Hockey Video
I haven't updated in a long, long time. Which would mean something if you weren't accidentally linked to this site by the "random blog" button.
Anyway, I'd like to link to the hockey video made by Dan and I. Weirdly enough, this video has become relatively big within our small group of friends. It started as a video to help Dan cope with a 16-1 loss against a better team - but then it got to all the other teams in the Florida Scholastic Hockey League. Including the team that scored those 16 goals.
Which then got to the team's coach.
Which then apparently got to her sister, an editor at HBO, who enjoyed it.
The video's no viral Internet video - there's nothing wacky or particularly catchy about it that warrants Patrice O'Neil mocking it on VH1. At the same time, people have enjoyed it because it shows Daniel obviously suffering through an incredibly hard game. It's a real game he's playing, so his emotional outbursts at the goals is pretty real.
The sepia-tone chicken is also quite real. Before the game began, I saw a chicken approaching the ice to dance with a bunch of birthday-party kids. Having my camera ready, I knew this was a little something I had to catch. I never particularly understood some of the stranger aspects of Italian and German operas, and I always loved the way that The Godfather had that one, edited scene with the massacre at the end.
I found a great opera tune, edited the best goals together (meaning the goals I actually caught on tape) and made it a jolly time.
Check it out.
